Deal a five-card hand
Leave jokers off and draw five cards. The remaining deck contains 47 cards. A second five-card draw comes from those 47 cards.
Start a shuffled 52-card deck and draw one or more cards at a time. The remaining deck stays in order until you start a new one, so a card cannot appear twice in the same deck. Add a distinct red and black joker for a 54-card deck.

The standard deck contains ace through king in spades, hearts, diamonds, and clubs: 13 ranks in each of four suits. Aces are labels rather than assigned numerical values. Optional jokers are additional distinct cards, not wild-card rules.
