1–100 unique words, each 2–24 letters A–Z. Repeated words are removed; case is normalized to uppercase. Your own vocabulary supplies the answers.

Worksheet preview

Generate to see numbered scrambles and answer spaces. Text downloads open in a text editor or word processor for printing.

Every scramble retains the original letters. A fallback swap avoids unchanged words when possible. A word such as AAA cannot change. Another valid anagram may also solve a puzzle; the answer key uses your original word.

Your inputs and generated files are processed locally in your browser. No input is uploaded to an audio or text-processing service.

Examples

Space vocabulary

PLANET, GALAXY, COMET, and ORBIT produce four numbered letter scrambles. The answer key retains your original spellings in uppercase.

Repeated letters

BALLOON keeps exactly two Ls and two Os in every scramble. AAA cannot be rearranged into a different letter sequence and is marked accordingly.

Your vocabulary defines the puzzle

No external word list is used. Each entry must have 2–24 ASCII letters without spaces, punctuation, or accents. Duplicate entries are removed without regard to case, and all answers are displayed in uppercase.

How letters are shuffled

A descending swap shuffle rearranges each word. If it happens to produce the original spelling, a fallback swaps two different letters when available. That avoids giving away ordinary answers but means the final arrangements are not uniformly distributed over all permutations.

Printing and alternate answers

Downloads are plain UTF-8 text, ready to open in a word processor or text editor and print. The worksheet download always omits answers, regardless of preview visibility. Another real word can be a valid anagram of the same letters; your original entry remains the intended answer.

What to know

  • 1–100 unique ASCII words, 2–24 letters each, up to 5,000 input characters.
  • A scramble may have multiple valid anagram answers; identical-letter words cannot be changed.

Common questions

Can I use phrases or accented words?

This version accepts only A–Z words of 2–24 letters. Remove spaces and accents only if that fits your lesson; the tool does not silently rewrite them.

Does reshuffling change the answers?

No. It creates new letter orders from the same current word list. The answers and numbering follow your input order.

Can I accidentally export answers on the worksheet?

The worksheet download always excludes answers. The separate answer-key download includes them. Copied text follows the reveal-answer setting.

Is the random shuffle suitable for security?

No. It is a recreational word puzzle using browser pseudorandomness, with a fallback to prevent unchanged words. It is not a cryptographic random source.
