Names are case-sensitive. Leading and trailing spaces are kept.

Credentials stay in this browser tab. They are never added to the page URL. Anyone who has the QR image can read the password, even if the password field is hidden.

Scannable Wi-Fi QR

Enter your network details to create a QR code. No network connection is tested by this tool.

Network details remain in browser memory. The PNG and SVG downloads contain the network credentials. Nothing is saved to browser storage by this tool.

How to use the Wi-Fi QR Code Generator

  1. 01

Enter the network name exactly as it appears in your Wi-Fi settings. Spaces and letter case matter.

  2. 02

Choose WPA/WPA2 Personal, WEP, or an open network. Enter the password when required.

  3. 03

Enable Hidden network if the network does not broadcast its name, then generate the code.

  4. 04

Test the code with a phone before printing. Download PNG for a ready-to-use image or SVG for scalable artwork.

Examples

A guest network

Use your guest network’s exact name and password with WPA/WPA2 Personal. Print the downloaded code next to the network name so visitors can identify it.

Names containing punctuation

A name such as Studio;Guest or a password containing a colon is escaped automatically in the QR payload. Enter the actual characters, without adding backslashes yourself.

Wi-Fi QR format and compatibility

The code uses the common WIFI: text format, with network type, SSID, password when needed, and an optional hidden-network flag. Backslashes and reserved punctuation are escaped. The QR has a four-module white border and medium error correction. Scanner support depends on the phone and operating system; test with the devices your guests will use.

Keep credentials local and readable codes intact

Generation happens in this tab, and credentials are not put into share links or the page URL. The image itself contains the credentials in a decodable form. Share it only with people who should have access. Keep its white border, avoid stretching it, and use strong contrast when printing.

What to know

  • Network names are limited to 32 UTF-8 bytes. Password fields are limited to 256 characters.
  • Connecting depends on device scanner support and correct network settings.

Common questions

Does this test my Wi-Fi password?

No. The tool encodes the details you enter and cannot check your router. Scan the code on a device to confirm that it connects.

Can it connect to enterprise or captive-portal networks?

This version does not encode enterprise authentication, certificates, or captive-portal sign-in. It supports WPA/WPA2 Personal, legacy WEP, and open-network details.

What about WPA3-only networks?

There is no dedicated WPA3 option here. Phone support varies; for a WPA3-only network, verify compatibility on the intended devices before distributing a code.

Will changing my password update an old printed code?

No. Generate and print a new code after changing the network name, password, or security type.
