How to use the Social Image Resizer

Examples
Portrait crop with an off-center subject
Start at 1080 × 1350, choose fill-and-crop, and move horizontal placement toward the side containing the subject. The slider controls which part of an overflowing image stays visible.
Templates are editable design canvases
The named presets describe aspect ratios and pixel dimensions. They are generic starting points, not claims about any social platform’s current requirements. Confirm the destination’s upload rules, safe areas, file-size limit, and crop behavior before posting.
Crop, fit, and positioning
Fill-and-crop scales the image until it covers the canvas and removes overflow. Fit-with-background scales it until the full image is visible and fills the spare area with your selected color. Placement at 0% aligns the top or left edges; 100% aligns the bottom or right edges. Neither mode stretches the source.
What to know
- Output is limited to 4,096 pixels per side and 12 million pixels.
- A small source can be enlarged, which may soften details. JPEG is lossy; animation becomes a still image.
Common questions
Will the image be stretched?
No. Both composition modes keep the source aspect ratio. A different canvas shape results in cropping or background margins.
Can I export transparent padding?
The composition uses an opaque background color in both formats. Use the general Image Resizer if you need a transparent PNG fit without a fixed canvas.
Does it enforce platform file-size limits?
No. The tool sets pixel dimensions and offers JPEG at 92% encoder quality. File size varies with the artwork and browser encoder; check the downloaded file against your destination’s limits.
