Eighth-note practice
At 80 BPM with two clicks per beat, each click is 0.375 seconds apart. Four beats per bar still gives a three-second bar.
Build a steady practice pulse from 20 to 300 beats per minute. Set the number of quarter-note beats in a bar, choose extra clicks between beats, then start the browser-generated metronome when you are ready.
First beat has a higher click. Stop to change tempo or meter. Start with low device volume.
Ready. Audio starts only when you press Start.
Audio is scheduled ahead on the Web Audio clock; the visual beat may lag slightly with device latency. Beats are quarter notes even in six-beat bars.

Set a quarter-note tempo and the number of beats in each bar.
Choose one, two, three, or four clicks per beat. Start at low device volume.
Press Start metronome. The first beat of each bar sounds higher; press Stop before adjusting settings.
At 80 BPM with two clicks per beat, each click is 0.375 seconds apart. Four beats per bar still gives a three-second bar.
At 120 BPM, three clicks per beat divides each half-second quarter note into three equal parts. The tempo remains 120 quarter notes per minute.
A quarter note lasts 60 divided by BPM seconds. Each subdivision divides that interval again. Choosing eighth notes doubles the click count without doubling the displayed beat tempo.
Beat one uses a higher tone. Other main beats have a middle tone, while subdivisions use a lower, softer click. A six-beat setting means six quarter-note beats here; it does not automatically interpret compound 6/8 meter.
Clicks are scheduled slightly ahead against the Web Audio clock. Screen animation follows the audio clock but may lag the actual sound with output latency or busy browser work. Hiding the page stops playback, and each session is limited to ten minutes.
After this tool and its scripts are loaded, its clicks require no network service. Reloading the site may still require a connection.
The tool deliberately closes its audio context when the document becomes hidden. Return to this page and press Start to begin a new session.
No. Clicks are synthesized locally; no recording or microphone permission is needed.
Stop first, change the tempo or subdivisions, and start again. This keeps the chosen tempo consistent for each session.
