WAV, MP3, Ogg, M4A and other inputs depend on browser codec support. No file is uploaded. Output is always WAV.

Your inputs and generated files are processed locally in your browser. No input is uploaded to an audio or text-processing service.

How to use the Audio Trimmer

  1. 01

Choose a browser-supported audio file under 20 MiB and no longer than 120 seconds.

  2. 02

Enter the start and end in seconds; the end must be later than the start.

  3. 03

Preview the selected range, then download the 16-bit PCM WAV output.

Examples

Remove a spoken introduction

For a 45-second clip, entering 6.5 as the start and 35 as the end keeps approximately 28.5 seconds.

Keep a musical phrase

Use a short range such as 12.00–16.00 seconds, preview the boundaries, then adjust by hundredths of a second until the cut fits.

Time boundaries and sample frames

The start is rounded down to a decoded sample frame and the end to the nearest frame. Output duration can therefore differ from the typed interval by about one sample. The peak overview shows the whole recording; the shaded region marks your selection.

Why the download is a WAV

Supported compressed inputs are decoded by your browser. The selected decoded samples are written into a RIFF/WAVE container as signed 16-bit PCM, with mono or stereo channels preserved. This is a re-encoded clip rather than a lossless MP3 frame cut.

Working within browser memory

The input limit is 20 MiB and 120 seconds, with mono or stereo audio only. Metadata is checked before decoding. Decoding requests a 48,000 Hz context; the interface reports the actual decoded sample rate. Browser codec support and available memory still matter.

What to know

  • 20 MiB input; 120 seconds maximum; mono/stereo only.
  • Output is 16-bit PCM WAV. Metadata and artwork are not retained; no fade or normalization is applied.

Common questions

Can I export MP3 or M4A?

No. Every download is a .wav file containing 16-bit PCM audio. Renaming the extension would not convert the format.

Will a cut click at its boundaries?

A hard cut through a nonzero waveform can click. This tool does not add crossfades, normalize loudness, or find zero crossings automatically. Adjust the boundary or use an editor with fades for critical work.

Is my file uploaded?

No. File metadata, decoding, preview, and WAV creation happen inside your browser.

Why did my audio file fail to load?

The browser may not support its codec, the metadata may be unreadable, or the file may exceed the duration, channel, or size limits. Try a short mono or stereo WAV.
